Denise has over 25 years of experience practising family law in Edmonton. She has extensive litigation experience, having appeared before all three Court levels in Alberta (Provincial, Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal) as well as the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories.

Denise was an early advocate of alternative dispute resolution processes and has assisted parties by mediating their disputes in her private practice for over 20 years. She previously volunteered as a mediator with the Edmonton Community Mediation Services and also with the Provincial Court of Alberta Civil Division. She is currently a volunteer mediator with the Child Support Resolution Program offered through Alberta Justice.

Denise obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Special) in Criminology with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 1987. She graduated with from the University of Alberta law school in 1991 and then completed her Articles of Clerkship with the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench/Alberta Court of Appeal and the law firm of Milner Fenerty. Immediately after completing her Articles, Denise joined the boutique law firm of Rand Moreau and has practised family law exclusively since then.

Although Denise represents clients with all types of family law issues, she has always had a particular interest in assisting clients with custody and parenting disputes. Denise has been involved in numerous high conflict custody disputes in various roles - as counsel for one of the parents, for grandparents, for the children and as a mediator.

Denise currently sits on the Alberta Community and Social Services/Children’s Services Appeal Panel. She is a volunteer member of the Law Society of Alberta Conduct Committee and a member of the Appeal Committee for the Legal Aid Society of Alberta. Denise is also involved with the Independent Legal Advice Program for Survivors of Sexual Violence offered through the Elizabeth Fry Society of Alberta.
